Smart Home Device Installation

On-Site Setup for Smart TVs, Streaming Devices, Doorbells, Cameras, Thermostats, Speakers, WiFi Devices & Home Technology

Mr. Computer helps customers install, connect and troubleshoot smart home devices without the frustration. We set up smart TVs, streaming devices, cameras, video doorbells, thermostats, smart speakers, smart plugs, smart lighting, garage door openers, tablets, phones, hubs, WiFi-connected appliances and home audio/video equipment.

Smart device problems are often WiFi problems. If your cameras, TVs, doorbells or smart devices constantly disconnect, your router may not be strong enough for the number of devices in your home.

Common Smart Home Problems We Solve

Many customers call because they do not know how to connect the device, do not want to learn a new app, or are simply tired of fighting technology that should have been easier to use.

01

“I bought it, but I cannot set it up.”

We install the device, connect it to WiFi, configure the app and make sure it works before we leave.

02

Smart Device Will Not Connect to WiFi

We troubleshoot WiFi settings, weak signal, router issues, passwords and device compatibility problems.

03

Device Stopped After Router Changes

Internet provider changes, router replacements and WiFi name changes can break smart home devices.

04

Too Many Apps and Passwords

We help customers work through app setup, accounts, passwords, device pairing and basic usage.

Smart Home Installation Services We Provide

We help with the practical side of smart home technology: installation, connection, account setup, app setup, WiFi troubleshooting and basic customer training.

Smart TV and Streaming Device Setup

Smart TVs and streaming devices are among our most common smart home service calls. We connect the TV, configure apps, connect streaming devices, sign in to services and make sure the customer understands how to use the setup.

Video Doorbells

Install and configure video doorbells, connect the app, connect WiFi and help with basic usage.

Security Cameras

Set up WiFi cameras, connect apps, configure accounts and troubleshoot cameras that keep going offline.

Smart Thermostats

Install smart thermostats, connect them to WiFi, configure the app and help customers understand the controls.

Smart Plugs and Smart Lighting

Connect smart plugs, smart lighting, WiFi switches, app controls and basic automation features.

Garage Door and Connected Devices

Help connect supported garage door devices, WiFi appliances, hubs and other smart home equipment.

WiFi Troubleshooting for Smart Devices

Fix weak signal, overloaded routers, poor placement, connection failures and smart devices that will not stay online.

Audio, Speakers and Receivers

Help with stereo receivers, regular speakers, mounted speakers, in-wall speaker wiring and most audio/video needs.

Smart Homes Need Strong WiFi

Your Smart Devices Are Only as Reliable as Your Network

Smart TVs, streaming devices, doorbells, cameras, thermostats, phones, tablets, smart speakers and connected appliances all depend on reliable WiFi. A traditional router may work for a few devices, but modern homes can quickly outgrow that kind of setup.

Bulletproof WiFi networks are built specifically to handle modern smart homes better than a standard router. Better coverage, better placement and better configuration can make smart devices connect more reliably and stay online.

Cameras Stay Connected

Security cameras and doorbells need strong signal in areas where WiFi is often weak.

Streaming Works Better

Smart TVs and streaming devices perform better with stable coverage and less interference.

More Devices at Once

Smart homes can have dozens of connected devices competing for WiFi at the same time.

Better Whole-Home Coverage

Mesh WiFi can improve upstairs rooms, patios, garages, offices and media rooms.

Smart TVs and Streaming Devices

We Make TVs, Streaming Apps and Remotes Easier to Use

Smart TVs and streaming devices are some of the most common devices customers need help with. We can connect the TV to WiFi, install or sign into apps, connect streaming devices, troubleshoot buffering, configure input settings and help customers understand the normal remote that came with the TV or device.

We do not set up universal TV remotes anymore, but we can troubleshoot normal TV and device remotes. If you need a complex universal remote system, we can refer you to someone better suited for that specific work.

Streaming App Setup

Help with streaming apps, account sign-ins, updates, WiFi connections and basic navigation.

TV Input and Device Setup

Connect streaming boxes, game systems, soundbars, receivers and other TV-connected devices.

Buffering and WiFi Problems

If streaming fails because of bad WiFi, we can troubleshoot and recommend a better network plan.

Cameras, Doorbells, Thermostats and Connected Home Devices

These devices can be very useful, but setup can be confusing. We help with installation, app configuration, WiFi connection, account setup and basic training.

01

Security Cameras

Set up WiFi cameras, connect them to the app, troubleshoot offline cameras and improve connectivity where possible.

02

Video Doorbells

Install supported video doorbells, connect accounts, configure notifications and verify the device is online.

03

Smart Thermostats

Install smart thermostats, connect them to WiFi and configure the app so the customer can control temperature easily.

04

Smart Speakers and Hubs

Set up speakers, hubs, voice assistants, tablets, phones and connected smart home controls.

Audio / Video Support

Home Audio, Speakers, Receivers and Mounted TV Help

We can help with most audio/video needs, including stereo receivers, regular speakers, mounted speakers, in-wall speaker wiring, smart TVs, streaming devices, soundbars and related home entertainment equipment.

We also mount TVs. TV mounting is billed as two-man labor at $239 per hour. Mounting on brick or stone is limited to situations where the electrical and wiring are already in place and no new wires need to be run through the brick or stone wall.

TV Mounting

Available as two-man labor. Ideal when wiring and power are already properly located.

Stereo Receivers

Help connecting receivers, speakers, TVs, streaming devices and input/output settings.

Speakers and In-Wall Wiring

We can help with regular speakers, mounted speakers and in-wall speaker wiring.

Soundbars and Streaming

Connect soundbars, streaming devices, smart TVs and related home entertainment equipment.

Important Service Notes

What We Can Help With — and When You Need an Electrician

We install and configure smart devices, but we are not electricians. If a device requires new 110-volt electrical power in a new location, an electrician will need to handle that part of the job.

We do not work on alarm systems, and we do not run new wires through brick or stone walls. For brick or stone TV mounting, electrical and low-voltage wiring must already be in place if the customer wants wires hidden.

No High-Voltage Electrical

New 110-volt power locations must be handled by a licensed electrician.

No Alarm Systems

We do not install or service hardwired alarm systems.

Brick and Stone Limits

We cannot run new hidden wiring through brick or stone walls.

We Do Handle the Technology

Apps, WiFi, accounts, smart devices, TVs, speakers, streaming and home connectivity.

How Smart Home Installation Works

We make the process easier by handling the device setup, WiFi connection, app configuration and basic customer training.

1

Tell Us What You Bought

Call and describe the device, where it goes and what you want it to do.

2

We Inspect the Setup

We check the device, location, WiFi, power, app requirements and any related equipment.

3

We Connect and Configure

We connect the device to WiFi, configure the app, set up the account and test the device.

4

We Show You How It Works

We explain the basic controls, app usage and what to do if the device disconnects.
