How We Approach Computer Support

We Help You Figure Out What the Problem Actually Is

A computer problem is not always just a computer problem. A slow computer may be caused by WiFi. A printer problem may be caused by the network. Outlook may fail because of a password, profile, app issue or email provider setting. A data problem may mean the computer should not be restarted repeatedly.

When you call, we ask the right questions so we can schedule the correct type of support and avoid wasting time on the wrong solution.

What Is It Doing?

We ask what the computer is doing right now so we can understand the current symptom.

How Long Has It Happened?

New problems, recurring problems and long-term issues often point to different causes.

How Consistent Is It?

Intermittent problems may involve WiFi, failing hardware, software conflicts or account issues.

How Old Is the Computer?

We help determine whether repair, upgrade, reload or replacement makes the most sense.

Windows Compatibility

We Support Windows 10 and Windows 11 Computers

We work on Windows 10 computers and prefer working on Windows 11 computers when possible. We do not support Windows 8 or older because too many modern programs, websites, security tools and services no longer work properly on those older systems.

If your computer is too old to work well with modern Windows, we can help you decide whether repair makes sense or whether a new computer setup and data migration would be the better investment.

Windows 11 Preferred for modern compatibility, security and long-term usability.
Windows 10 Supported when the computer is still a reasonable repair candidate.
Windows 8 or Older Not supported because modern compatibility is too limited.

How Computer Support Pricing Works

Because “computer support” can mean many different things, this page cannot give one universal price for every situation. Most computer support is billed at our standard hourly rate, and the total time depends on the problem, the computer, the amount of data, the number of devices and whether parts or deeper work are required.

Hourly Service

Most computer support calls are handled at our standard hourly service rate.

Problem Type Matters

A printer issue, data migration, SSD clone, Windows reload, WiFi issue and data recovery call can all require different amounts of time.

Use the Topic Pages

The individual service pages give a better idea of what to expect for that specific type of support.
