VPN Question - Should I Get One? (February 22, 2025)
There’s a lot of companies trying to sell VPN services and they make a lot of lofty claims. Most VPNs will do nothing to protect you from Virus’. Essentially, they shield your IP address from websites. Unfortunately, many websites will not work properly while you are connected to a VPN, especially banking, investment and sites that do transactions (like Amazon). The reason sites refuse to work with VPNs is that although law abiding people may use VPNs, criminals consistently use VPNs to hide their tracks; so many websites are now refusing (at least partially) to work for people while on VPN. Consider these facts if you decide to purchase one. With all of this considered, if you need help setting up a VPN (subscription paid service) to conceal your IP, let us know and we can schedule an appt to take care of this quickly for you, and we can teach you how to turn it on and off. VPN should not be confused with VPN Tunnels which are used by businesses to allow employees to remotely connect to the office. This is not what we are talking about here.

My computer says I should call Microsoft for assistance with an infected file, should I call? (July 11, 2023)
99% of the time, that pop up is part of a scam. Do not call/trust them. The phone number is not Microsoft, it is a scammer. Their goal is to talk you into letting them remote into your computer where they will then try to extract passwords or gain access to bank accounts.
Should I update my iPhone to iOS 16.3 ? (February 1, 2023)

Are Cookies Dangerous ? (July 11, 2022)
Short answer, probably not. Ultimately, they are rarely a problem. As a matter of fact, accepting them will help your computer work properly with many websites. A cookie is essentially a piece of YOUR personal data that's being put on YOUR computer. The problem isn't often having or accepting cookies, the problem is when your they are compromised/read by a malicious third party. If you'd like a deep dive into the subject, read the linked article below. If not, you should consider temporarily purging the cookies from your computer.
